Bessie's Table

 

Bessie’s Table began in October 2003, with a simple mission in mind; “Providing a hot home cooked meal, in a welcoming environment to individuals and families in need at no cost.” Operating on the “Stone Soup Principle”, we gather donated food items from various sources and create a complete meal. It is through these donations of goods that Bessie’s Table can prepare and serve each meal needed every Monday evening.

 

However, when we are unable to secure a donation, these items must be purchased. The average cost for an entire meal is $150.00. Unbelievably, our expert kitchen volunteers can purchase enough food to prepare a meal to feed 100-125 individuals.

 

Perhaps your organization, school, or church has been looking for a community partnership program. What better way then the partner with Bessie’s Table, and allow your $150.00 partnership donation help so many individuals in the community. With your partnership donation, you will receive a certificate to proudly display in your organizations office recognizing you as a partner.

 

 

Become a volunteer at Bessie’s Table! Do you enjoy helping and enriching the lives of others? Bessie’s Table provides an excellent opportunity to do both! Volunteering is simple. We need volunteers to assist with:

 

ð     Food preparation

ð     Set-up

ð     Serving

ð     Cleanup

ð     Fundraising

 

Bessie’s Table only serves dinner on Monday’s from 5:30pm until 6:30pm. We ask that our dining room volunteers arrive by 4:00pm to help set up. Kitchen volunteers start preparing the meal by 2:00pm. Clean up is completed by 7:00pm. You can volunteer every Monday night or 1 Monday per month, we will greatly appreciate the time that you do give, and so will our guests!
