Today's question:
"Why are you crying?" he asked her. "Whom are you looking for?"
From John 20:
...She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14 Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

Reflection from Mike Murphy
Jesus has died and been placed in the tomb. The disciples have found the stone moved and the tomb empty. Jesus is missing. Mary has arrived. Think how you would be feeling if your child had died and you found them missing from their grave? Mary is distraught. Jesus is right in front of her and she does not recognize him.
Sometimes, especially when we are under pressure or in pain, what we are looking for is right in front of us. We narrow our focus and lose sight of what we are really looking for. This especially happens to us in times of grief and pain. We do not recognize that we have been given what we need if we can open ourselves up and recognize it. What God provides might not look like what we expect, but it is what we have asked for and need. When we are in trying times we need to open ourselves up to see what we have been given.
