Today's question:
"Won't any of you believe in me unless I do more miracles?"
From John 4
46-47 In the course of his journey through Galilee he arrived at the town of Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. While he was there, a man in the city of Capernaum, a government official, whose son was very sick, heard that Jesus had come from Judea and was traveling in Galilee. This man went over to Cana, found Jesus, and begged him to come to Capernaum with him and heal his son, who was now at death’s door.
48 Jesus asked, “Won’t any of you believe in me unless I do more and more miracles?”

Reflection from Sam Trinite
Often times doubt creeps into our walk. We want to see God produce miracles in our life so that our faith can be reaffirmed. I think it is interesting that the scripture says that the official believed Jesus when He said his son would live. Maybe that is why we so often miss out on Gods ability to perform miracles in our life. We put our faith in ourselves and don't allow God to move in our lives.
Speaking for myself I know that on countless occasions I will pray for something but get impatient and try to make it happen on my own, to which I usually make things worse! Jesus is quoted as saying “Blessed be the one who believes without seeing.” To the best of my knowledge there is not one person alive today who has seen Christ in the flesh, so our faith has to be strong in order to believe He can perform miraculous events in our life.
When we allow space for God to move in our lives, amazing things happen. It’s not enough to say we believe we have to have faith. Faith that the Creator loves us so much and wants a personal relationship in which He can move in our lives and make the impossible possible. Jesus was also quoted saying “how we, as sinful people, will give good gifts to our children, but how much greater God will give to His children.” We have the Spirit of God dwelling in us to which we can call upon the Father and he will answer, we just have to give him the time and have the faith that He will.
I pray for a reawakening of this kind of faith that we hear so much about in scripture. Like the lady who thought to herself "if I could only touch His garment I will be healed". Or of the official who said that Christ need not come to his servant but to just say the word and he would be healed. This kind of faith is what is needed so that God will move in our lives.

Thanks Sam for your reflection. Thanks for reminding us that it takes patience to have faith work in our lives. I like that you said We have the Spirit of God dwelling in us to which we can call upon the Father & he will answer w/time & have the faith that he will.
